bit of a long shot but basically my mobile, a nokia 6600 met with an unfortunate accident and ended up in some water. After a stint in a warm place, and a few minutes under my hair drier, it has now dried out and is sort of working, but it's somewhat brain damaged and I'm therefore looking for a new one. I know that lots of people tend to sell their phones with talcs on so if anyone has one for sale I'd be very interested, alternatively perhaps someone could point me in the direction of that mailing list where people sell things ... ta

I'm looking for the same as you, Sugarbaby but for different reasons. I have a Nokia 7610 with Talks 60, (the crappy bassic version) on it. I printed some stuff off Frontier Computer Systems about Talks 2.0 for mum to have a look, and she says we may need to get me a new phone as well as she didn't think my 7610 has GpPS and stuff on it, and also Talks 2.0 wouldn't work on it. Could anyone help me and Sugarbaby out maybe, and advise us which phones will work best with Talks 2.0?

It doesn't really need gps or anything, you've just gotta make sure that its running the right operating system for talks.

Another thing you have to think about is if your phone is fast enough to run talks? I think the cpu in the nokia n70 is about 266 mhz, and it runs it fine. Btw, talks 2.0 is old, 2.54 is out now!
If you are in the uk, then you can go onto www.comproom.co.uk to get a copy of talks for £150. Hth.

I have a nokia 6630, with a full version of talks on it for sale. only drawback is it's on the three network and it can't be unlocked, but it's there if you're interested

Thanks, but mum wants me to change over to contract, and no, Three doesn't work with Talks apparently, so that phone's out for both of us. Thanks for the correction concerning Talks also. 2.54 must be incredibly brand new, but it's complicated to load it on to the phone I think, so I'd have to send it off to RNIB or somewhere and have it loaded for me.

Talks is network independent.
This means that it will work on any network, 3 included. the only thing it might not work with is some programs that 3 put on your phone, but if the above poster used talks with 3, doesn't that kinda mean that it will work?
Itsnot hard to install the program on your phone, you just connect it to your computer, and copy some files over and install them, you will need a sighted to help you with that. You don't even have to use a cable if you don't want too.
BEN.

hi, talks works with any network. also if you already have talks the next phone you get if you contact a guy called steve nutt he will give you the upgrade for talks which will only cost £50 instead of buying it all over again for £150. oh and by chance i have a nokia 3230 which is unlocked to any network with a full version of talks on it. as long as the phone has simbian on it it will work with talks.
check yall later.

I wouldnt' personall use Steve Nut. He's slow, unreliable, and can be incredibly rude to his customers. For speed and quallity if you want to buy talks in the UK, contact Communicate on 08701600600
. Also, of course talks works on three! Or why would I be telling you I have a phone for sale with it on it? I used it for a year, definitely works...... duh,

Hi. As Talks 2.54 is out now, which phones will work with it? When I purchased Talks 60 I think there was a list in Vision Magazine of the phones which worked with it, but as Talks 2.54 has all these new features like a world clock, GPS Etc, I wondered who has it on which Nokia phones or any other phones whic[h apostrophe r]e available in the UK, such as Samsung, Motorola, Sony Erixon and Semens for example. The facia or phone cover on my 7610 doesn't clip on properly anymore due to its, rather sudden contact with the floor in this room the other day when I connected it up to my PC, and I don't think it has all the features needed to run Talks 2.54 anyway. If anyone's using it, either post on this topic, Email me at Jenpentire@hotmail.com or private message me on The Zone. My ID number is 3189

hey hey sugar, i would be intrested in buying that nokia mobile. That's providing you still have it. How much are you looking for it? Oh, and for anyone who is intrested, in the u k. you can go to any of your local vodafone shop, they are doing the nokia 6680 for 230 pounds with talks aswell, so, if you get a chance then go ahead, check it out. It's a pretty good deal. so, anyway, back to the mobile that sugar has for sale, yeah, so, i would be intrested, so why don't you drop me a private message on the zone and let me know how much your looking for it. cheers.

Er, so is Vodafone selling the 6680 with the latest version of Talks, 2.54? If they are, I'm hotfooting it to my nearest Vodafone shop tomorrow! Lollol.

The Vodafone deal isn't on anymore guys. Mum and I went to the Vodafone shop in town last week and they've stopped selling the 6680 with Talks. We then went along to Orange, and to cut a long story short, I came away from there with a Nokia N70, which I can use from 14 August when Virgin Mobile ports my number over to BT Orange. Talks 2.54 only cost me £60 plus £10 postage and packing last Tuesday and I just got my N70 phone back from Steve Nutt two days ago, so I think he's very quick and reliable with it.

I can't wait for the nokia E series to be supported by talks. That's when I'll bightt in to the phone market again.

Post 15 by Lee (Veteran Zoner) on Friday, 18-Aug-2006 0:03:08

Aww, They don't do it anymore, Ah, that's a real shame. Yeah, i need a new phone too. Who is this guy you can get the talks off for 60 pounds?

Post 16 by bozmagic (The rottie's your best friend if you want him/her to be, lol.) on Friday, 18-Aug-2006 7:32:09

He's Steve Nutt. Www.comproom.co.uk.

You could send the phone off to him say, today, and have it back by Monday the 21st of August.

O and for anyone looking for a new phone in general, I'd seriously reccomend Nokia's N series. It's like an Ipod, WAP web browser, radio and phone all-in-one. I'm absolutely smitten with my N70, can't keep my hands off it for two seconds, which is now why its right here, in my jeans, pocket.
